Somehow, a shiny new hotel doesnt seem quite right for New Orleans. More appropriate is a slightly faded elegance, and the Lamothe House fits the bill. Behind the Creole-style façade of the 1840s town house, Old New Orleans charm awaits you - a stone-lined courtyard with a fish-filled pond, banana trees and rooms filled with original antiques...As the staff points out, its not Victorian style, it is Victorian. On a steamy night, sitting in the courtyard breathing the fresh air, you can feel yourself slip out of time. -- Frommers Guide
The Lamothe House has twenty accommodationson the main property -- eleven guest rooms and nine suites, all furnished with antiques, many with decorative fireplaces and other architectural features. Some accommodations face the inner courtyard, overlooking the goldfish pond, and there are even a few adjoining rooms for visitors traveling together. All guestrooms offer private baths, free cable TV, air-conditioning, radio alarm clocks and telephones.
We offer ten more rooms at the Marigny Guest House, a Creole cottage across the street from the main building. Furnishings at this cozy cottage are a mix of antiques and reproductions, and guests here can enjoy full use of all common areas in the main building, the courtyard and of course, the pool.
